The Diocese of Raleigh is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcelo Eureste as the new Superintendent of Catholic Schools, effective June 16. Eureste joins the Diocese of Raleigh from the Diocese of Brownsville, where he served as superintendent for the past two school years.

Eureste brings extensive experience in Catholic education to his new role. His leadership in the Diocese of Brownsville was preceded by ten years of school leadership in the Archdiocese of San Antonio and tenure in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles where he served as principal of St. Anthony High School. Eureste brings to the Diocese of Raleigh a focus on educational innovation, strengthened community partnerships, and a steadfast commitment to the mission of Catholic schools.

“We are excited to welcome Marcelo Eureste to the Diocese of Raleigh,” said Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama. “His dedication to nurturing faith-filled learning environments and his strategic vision for Catholic education will greatly benefit our schools, students, and families.”

As Superintendent, Eureste will oversee the Diocese of Raleigh’s network of 29 Catholic schools, ensuring they continue to provide high-quality education rooted in Gospel values. He will work closely with school leaders, educators, and families to advance the diocese’s mission of forming students who are intellectually prepared and spiritually vibrant.

“I am honored to join the Diocese of Raleigh and look forward to collaborating with educators, parents, and students to build on the diocese’s strong tradition of faith-based education and inspire a new generation of leaders,” said Eureste. “My family and I look forward to living and serving this vibrant Catholic community.”
