Mission

Inspired by our patron Francis of Assisi, we seek to proclaim the reign of God by growing in Holiness through our experience of Christ in word, sacrament and one another, offering hope to those who hunger for human dignity, and extending hospitality to all.

Faith

The Franciscan School cultivates a nurturing, faith-filled environment that everyone can call home. Our students graduate with lifelong friendships and a family of teachers who cheer them on for years to come. Each day begins with the entire school community gathered in the courtyard for morning prayer. We also come together in the church for Mass every Wednesday. In addition, time is intentionally carved into the schedule to investigate the seven Catholic Social Teaching principles. During this time, students participate in a variety of creative, grade-level appropriate activities to reinforce a meaningful understanding of each of these principles.

Academics

The Franciscan School has a reputation of academic excellence, providing a rigorous education that develops students into lifelong learners and leaders. Our highly qualified faculty challenge and encourage each student, mindfully meeting them where they are and helping them take the next steps in their academic development. Our curriculum, aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, national standards and diocesan objectives and values, provides a strong foundation for the future. Through diverse course offerings, technology-enhanced classrooms and experiential learning activities, we bring the concepts taught within the classroom to life.

Extracurricular

The Franciscan School believes that strong futures start with strong foundations, and we are passionate about building them. Combining Catholic values with community, leadership, reverence and service. Our athletic program lays a foundation that serves students far beyond their time at The Franciscan School. We are dedicated to meeting our students’ and families’ needs through extracurricular programs, school counseling services and an array of clubs and organizations. In these nurturing environments, we aim to support our families, instill strong values, encourage aspirations and set every student up for success.
