In collaboration with the Diocese of Raleigh, Cardinal Gibbons High School will open a new high school in the fall of 2028. This school will be independently operated, with its own name, Catholic identity, and charism, separate from Gibbons.

This initiative advances the Diocese's broader plan to expand its high school presence in the Triangle.

The new school will serve approximately 400 students, which allows for smaller class sizes and a more personalized educational experience.

The school's mission will focus on addressing the academic and spiritual needs of each student and cultivating an environment of support and growth while maintaining a strong Catholic identity.

The school will welcome its first freshman class in fall 2028 and will add one grade level each year, with the inaugural class graduating in 2032.

Cardinal Gibbons High School is at full capacity, with 1,600 students enrolled and approximately 250 applicants turned away each year due to space constraints.

GRACE Christian School is undergoing an expansion and relocating to Apex, presenting a unique opportunity to purchase its current Lower School campus. The existing facilities are in excellent condition and require minimal upgrades, making repurposing the site a far more cost-effective option—at just a fraction of the cost of building a new school from the ground up.

This unique opportunity supports and enables the Diocese of Raleigh and Cardinal Gibbons combined commitment to expanding access to a high-quality Catholic education.
