Mission

St. Mark Catholic School is committed to educating the whole child academically, spiritually, and physically. St. Mark Catholic School strives for academic excellence by instilling in each student Christian values, confidence, and a desire to be effective leaders of tomorrow.

Faith

Catholic identity is more than attending a Catholic school. It is the foundation and basis of our mission, values, curriculum and student life.

At St. Mark Catholic School, the curriculum includes the incorporation of Catholic identity across all subjects:

  • Religious instruction in all grades
  • Weekly Mass for Pre-K/Kindergarten-8th grade students
  • Altar serving training for grades 3-8
  • Retreats in 6th-8th grades
  • Reconciliation after weekly Mass and during the seasons of Advent and Lent
  • Sacramental preparation in 2nd grade
  • School-wide Living Stations of the Cross performed by the 8th grade
  • Service projects for students in Pre-K-8th grade throughout the year

Academics
Catholic Schools exist so that curriculum may be taught in the light of Gospel teachings. Teachers must reinforce Gospel truths and values so that students may serve as witnesses to their Catholic faith. The values and attitudes help students develop a critical conscience in every content area. Values and attitudes are not necessarily quantifiable but rather identified in a student’s respect toward the content area.

  • All people are created with minds and the gift to reason.
  • God makes each of us as a unique individual.
  • Recognize our talents and share them with one another in order to do God’s will.

Extracurricular

St. Mark athletics offers over 16 teams for our middle school students. Over 70 percent of our middle school students take advantage of these opportunities. In addition, we offer a variety of sports for boys and girls at all grade levels. Our PreK-Grade 2 are involved in T-Ball and the Little Lions Basketball Program. We have expanded the Little Lions Basketball program to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Students in Grades 1-5 are able to participate in cross country in the fall. In addition, we offer basketball and volleyball clinics in the spring for those in elementary school.
